Our School

Our playground is so quiet,
No longer lined with toys,
The air, no longer full of laughs,
From happy girls and boys.

Our classrooms are so empty,
Not filled with growing minds,
Our seats sit lonely and so cold,
Our windows are all blind.

Not a whisper of a memory made,
No friendships forged in clay,
Maths, English, Science too,
All frozen in this way.

The halls are very quiet,
School is washed with eerie calm,
Teachers reach out to us all
So we're wrapped up in digital arms.

When the world is back in line,
And you've found your other shoe, (well you haven't worn them for weeks)
With smiling faces, arms open wide,
Your school will open up and welcome you.

But for now stay home and stay safe,
Chat with everyone you know on-line,
The day will come when you can meet back up,
Just give it all a little time x
