Outcast

The unnatural mixture of fear and frost,
Consumes every sense.
Crystal sight misted by a thousand icy stares.
China dishes cracked from a million arrows,
On course to ruin a life.

To the dust, the shell is thrust.
Still immature from a life of wonders,
Lacking knowledge of the ‘real’ world.

Wandering over the jellyfish graveyard,
Wondering is there ever escape?
A mop of matted mess,
Covers a freezing head.
Fine layers of skin,
Cover the brittle bones.

No energy is consumed;
Therefore no life is preserved in the frame.
Nights threaten, death, disease, burglary.

There are no walls to protect her,
Life is so different.
No pretty school dresses,
There is only time and that lasts forever.

Shame to tarnish her past;
Making her walk the long road,
Leading to a new undesirable life.

It does appeal to her,
Money for what seems like nothing.
There is only one thing she will have to give up,
Her dignity;
And that was beaten to the kerb a million years ago.
